Students around the world will be exploring computer coding as part of the Hour of Code during the week of December 7-13.
Here are some activities that you and your family can enjoy at our Hour of Code Celebration at the end of the week:
We will provide several computers and iPads to use during the event. However, you are also welcome to bring your own device (laptop, tablet, iPad). That way, you can easily continue your learning at home!

Here are some activities that you and your family can enjoy at our Hour of Code Celebration at the end of the week:
- Coding Apps & Websites: Explore beginning coding apps on the iPad, like Kodable, Scratch, Scratch Jr., and more! All Ages (no reading)
- Coding Tutorials: Join characters from Frozen, Gumball, Minecraft, and Star Wars to complete official Hour of Code tutorials. (some reading)
- Robots: Create an obstacle course for Bee-Bot the robot. Then program Bee-Bot to go through it! Draw a maze program for our Ozobots! (All ages)
- Binary Baubles: Learn about how computers transmit information. Then encode your initials and make a bracelet. (All ages)
- Upper School Apps: Our Upper School computer science students will share their latest work
- My Robotic Friends: “Program” your friends or family members to complete a cup-Stacking activity. (All ages)
- Makey Music: Play a potato keyboard! Then use other objects to create and program your own keyboard with the Makey Makey. (Ages 8 and up)
- Logic Puzzles: Computer programming involves thinking logically. We will have several codes and logic puzzles throughout the room. (Ages 6 and up)
- Board Games & Books: Check out some neat new board games and coding-related books. (All ages)
